What Is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy focuses on evaluating and providing therapeutic interventions to children from infancy through adolescence. The primary goal of pediatric occupational therapy is to help children develop the skills and abilities needed to engage in meaningful daily activities, also known as “occupations.” For children, these activities include self-care tasks (like dressing and feeding), play, social interactions, and academic pursuits.

Who Do We Serve?

We work with children who may have a wide range of challenges, including developmental delays, sensory processing differences, physical differences, learning differences, and emotional or behavioral challenges. We use a holistic approach to assess a child’s strengths and areas of need and then design individualized treatment plans to address those needs.

How Do We Serve?

Treatment techniques often involve play-based and purposeful activities that are both fun and therapeutic. We help children improve fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing abilities, handwriting, social skills, self-regulation, and overall independence in daily life. We play a crucial role in supporting children’s development and helping them reach their full potential.

What Sets Us Apart From Other OT Teams?

Treatment techniques often involve play-based and purposeful activities that are both fun and therapeutic. We help children improve fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing abilities, handwriting, social skills, self-regulation, and overall independence in daily life. We play a crucial role in supporting children’s development and helping them reach their full potential.

Our approach extends beyond addressing specific symptoms; we view children holistically, considering their integral role within their family network and their overall well-being and development. For example, when we work on handwriting, it’s not solely about neat writing but understanding the underlying challenges, which may relate to a child’s insecurities or fear of making mistakes. We offer support to navigate these challenges, facilitating the acquisition of life skills that benefit many other aspects of their lives.
