THIS MONTH'S FEATURED LESSON:
The Gratitude Jar
This month, we explore the theme of gratitude for ourselves and others. By learning to recognize and appreciate the people, experiences, and qualities in our lives, children can develop a deeper sense of connection and well-being. Kids will reflect on who and what they are grateful for, and discover meaningful ways to show gratitude to themselves and others. Through these activities, theyβll learn that gratitude is not just a feeling but an action that can bring joy to both themselves and those around them.
Children decorate their own glass jars to create a gratitude jar. Provide them with gratitude cards that they can fill out weekly and drop in their jars. At the end of the year, empty the jar and read all the amazing things you are grateful for!

Lesson: Don't Give Up
Talk about what perseverance means and how having a βcan-doβ attitude helps us overcome challenges. Share a story or example of when you (or someone they know) didnβt give up.
- Β
- Give them a card and marker to write or draw something encouraging for themselves, like a reminder they can look at if they feel like giving up.
- Have them run through a simple obstacle course. Time it for fun, but remind them itβs about finishing, not going fast.
- Celebrate! Give a small reward, like a sticker, to recognize their perseverance. Emphasize that their effort and determination are what really matter.
Tip: Invite a sibling or friend to join for extra fun and encouragement!
